In Assens we are aiming to attract the Business minded entrepreneurs. We had a big success in our arrangements in Copenhagen last year where we all meet, discuss and brain storm our mind to the benefit of Business. I also recall a session with Mr. Clinton the late President of US. We think Globalization is an instrument to create a better World and Peace.

No doubt we have our own vision for Globalization. However, I must address my concern. Do we all need to have an Opera House to be Global City? The answer is definitely no. We need to complement each other and use our resources in the best way. Globalization for us means a better World and we support Danish Companies to go Global.

We have a challenge ahead and we are

working hard to achieve our vision.

I wish also to stress upon the important role of Assens private activities, arrangements and interest for Art.
We have a World Class Concert and we encourage them to tour the World. You can find mostly every thing in Assens from Retailers to Super-Market and many other World Class Services. Assens also is a great place for Tourism and Sailing with beautiful Marina and beaches. We also take care about the cultural values in our City and soon in our bigger Municipality. We have recently opened a Cultural Center with direct support from Business initiative. Our activities spanned across our borders and we are very much interested in expanding our participation. These are few examples about Assens successful models for engaging the community and encouraging Globalization.

Merging the Political and Organizations visions are healthy.
We have to encourage the society through different channels and communication to create a better understanding towards Globalization. Organizations must have the proper environment and support to go abroad. We are counting on our Local and National contribution to go Global. We are now trying to establish a base for better service level for Business and we always strive to create a better working environment for our local society, we believe that a better World is meaning a better Denmark.
We do have visions and so, we fully agree that Globalization will not prosper unless it is supported by People, Political will and the high dedication of our Business minded entrepreneurs.

Globalization:

Globalization has Political and Business aspects. Politicians have moral obligations to encourage the efforts and Companies, regardless of their sizes, can each have a say in the Globalization effort.

Merging Political and Organizations views in a new Business-2-Business approach is needed for the Globalization.

Last events:

… I would rather manage my post as the Ambassador of Denmark in Egypt without the unfortunate misunderstanding between Denmark and the Muslims World, however, what Denmark had achieved in the last 6 months may pave the way for 5 years ahead. Each nation need to stress upon its own Values but we can certainly benefit from respecting and understanding each other.

Last events show how close we are and how Technology enables the World to get in contact in rapid manner. We have the Technology that gets us closer, however we need to intensify the role of Across Global Business.

Companies and Globalization:

I have served as Civil Servant in different Countries in the World and I saw how Companies were focusing on profit only, now there are needs to change this attitude. More and more we can see how it is important to contribute to the welfare of the surrounding society. Companies can neither afford to live in isolation nor to ignore the complicated intercommunication relationships. We are one of 239 Countries and we strive to have very effective communication with all Nations.
We agree that each Country has something good and we agree that we should together promote the good things before criticizing the bad.
Danish companies have great potentiality for gaining World Class Profile according to United Nations Criteria. Danish Companies applies Equal Opportunity Employment, No abuse for Children, Elderly or Women and taking care about working environment to increase the productivity. The visibility of our entire infrastructure and stability of the Danish life is reflected in our peaceful way of life and neutrality in dealing with the World. Denmark is famous for its tolerance and fairness.
These values dictate our behavior at the National and Global frontiers.

The Danish Non Profit Organizations are the best model to transfer abstract values to feasible activities. Music Clubs, Sportss and other Groups are successful models for how people can increase their style and activities without actual participation from the Government.

We see Globalization as a must and we can tell that the Danish Prime Minister is a strong promoter and believer of the need for Globalization for Denmark.

Unique similarity with Kuwait and Egypt:

The Central Personal Number in Denmark is introduced in the early 70s as a tool for mechanizing the entire Public Sector and ties the individual activities with the States. The Kuwaiti Civil Registration, which is implemented in the late 80s in cooperation with Denmark has played a political decisive role in saving Kuwait and the resolution by the United Nations in the wake of the Iraqi Invasion is the best prove of how a modern Country can Politically benefit from that system.

Denmark uses the Personal Number in managing its Tax System. I can see now that Egypt has its Unique National ID and that Egypt is moving with confidence in implementing its own Tax System. I can add that the Tax System is essential part in managing the Wealth of our Danish Society and the newly established Danish Reform would not be possible without both the Personal Number and Tax System. We watch the progress of Egypt and we are happy to see how it is moving in the right direction. There is lot to learn from each other.

Neighborhood and relationship:

I agree that we must build on our common interest, mutual benefits and geographical ties. Although we are famous as part of Scandinavia, Baltic Sea, NATO and United Nations Keep Forces; we are active member in the European Union.
The Union is investing heavily in the Mediterranean region and we consider Egypt as our neighbor. Neighbors may have different views but live in harmony with each other.
I come to realize how easy to show our feeling as individuals, I am of course worried about the short term relationship,

yet I am certain that Business is running smoothly and steadily and perhaps in a better shape when we explode and come to apply our rational thinking.

Egypt has always a strategic place. We can see how the giants ships and containers carriers are benefit from Suez Canal and how many Danish Companies are successfully operating in Egypt. We can also see how Danish people love to
visit Egypt as tourists. We cannot permit to destroy these relationships as it is for the benefit of both Egypt and Denmark.
We understand the power of boycott and witness how the South African Wines invaded Denmark when we boycott the French Wine in the late sixties.

I am worried about shifting the Production to the Far East. Maersk has very strong ties with Middle East and we can see how the Big Ships are passing the Suez Canal with full load in its way to the Far East and how it returns back almost empty.

Apparently, Production is moving to Far East. With my background as civil-inginioer I am worried about moving the Research and Development as well as the Know How closer to Production.

Denmark has plans to invest a lot in R&D and Know How. We will be happy to transfer our Know How through our Business-2-Business programs to Egypt.

Business-2-Business (B2B):

Denmark has more than 30 B2B bilateral programs with different sectors in Egypt.

We encourage Egyptian Small, Middle and Big Companies to gain from our Danish Know How. We see the role of Business-2-Business as a step forward towards the Globalization. B2B may decrease the gap between us as neighbors and as members of the Global community, we both work hard to learn from each other and there are lots to gain from each other.

Globalization is a MUST in our real world:

This is the spirit of Globalization that I personally lucky to play part in it and the challenge to meet in a country like Egypt.

Globalization is a very big task and for the ordinary person, it is still not fully understood. I have two issues of concerns when I am thinking about Globalization.

On the first issue, I must say that we have to find a common platform to communicate it across all nations. Will this be a language or something else? In my opinion, a common language is good but not at the costs of national feeling. At the same time, I am thinking that insisting on using a local language is creating unnecessary bureaucratic overhead.

I think we need something bigger than languages.

We need something commonly understood and easy to communicate to unite the World. Within that something, we can use our own preferences.

On the second issue, I think it is also important to refute the idea of: I am big because my neighbor is small. We can see how the members of the European Union are striving to join the Union. They are trying, despite the differences, to manage.

In my opinion, Globalization to succeed, it must advocate a Common Cause, simple, easy to communicate and understood all over the World,
and a

Fresh approach based upon the notion that:
I am big because others are big as well.

The Common Cause and Fresh approach are Abstracts ideas. Converting these Abstracts ideas to a Concept is hard. Using the Internet is harder. Getting all the World to be part of this Concept is the hardest task.

Moral Human Values are both a Common Cause and Approach.

Adapting Moral Values, merging Politicians and Organizations visions to the Welfare of Human Being give Globalization new perspectives.

The idea of Globalization is still remote in the mind of many people and especially in Denmark. This perhaps has to do with our very strong Danish culture and homogeneous structure along hundreds of years. Denmark is a stable old Monarchy with Royal Blood all over Europe. Unlike other Countries, Denmark’s roots are not diversified. We have recently controlled immigration and we work to integrate foreigners in our way of living. Integration is not as successful as it should be.
We are however, a part of the Global Community. Globalization is a threat and an opportunity for us.

Threat:
We can see how China is investing heavily in Western Countries, how Japan is investing in Australia and how United Kingdom is full of foreign investors and capital. We can clearly see how basic Industries are either totally vanished or moving abroad (e.g., Cowboy Pants from USA).
We also see how Production is slipping away.

We cannot compete at big scale and at low technology. We have almost full employment now, yet we have idle resources that should be educated, trained and actively enter into the workforce rather than draining the economy.

Opportunities:
We can compete in small scale and high-specialized technology. As was told by Mr. Tony Blair (the British Prime Minister) we in Denmark should focus on Education, Education and Education. We cannot compete on prices but on design and know-how. We should not struggle to keep the low technology. We ought to improve our know-how and research capabilities. We need to consider inclusion of new languages in our schools. The Chinese language perhaps!

Aids:
Denmark is delivering its, by the United Nations agreed upon, aids-shares, yet we must be honest and see how these aids are helping the receiver country.

Often it is not contributing to the well being of people either because it is not training them to manage their own destiny or because they don’t get the full benefit of those aids. It is not unfair to reveal that a high percentage of the World aid is returning back in a form or another to benefit the donor country rather than the receiver!
I fear that Africa is left behind. This is a source for a real threat to the Globalization effort.

Proposal:
We can encourage young people to stay in their own Country by giving them hope and basis for the future and we can attract high educated resources in the World to return back home by giving them at least 50-75% employment in our aid to any Country. If the World is adapting this approach, we can really help in establishing a basis for Globalization.

Politicians, Organizations and Companies have Moral obligation and Ethics to help their own people and the World.

“La Globalización en el Ecuador”

El Ecuador como parte de la comunidad mundial se ve inmerso en los procesos que la sociedad y la economía necesitan para crecer. Este crecimiento se logra en base a los avances que tiene una determinada sociedad respecto de sus valores, economía, tecnología, derechos humanos y especialmente apertura a los nuevos procesos de integración comercial o seudo procesos de integración tecnológica.

La globalización vista desde una óptica económica como motor para el desarrollo social, resulta un elemento fundamental en la nueva economía mundial y parte de esa globalización está directamente relacionada con la tecnología ya que permite el conocimiento instantáneo de la actualidad económica, social y los avances que tienen otros países en su desarrollo.

En el campo de la tecnología, la globalización busca la integración de los diferentes países para disminuir la brecha digital y producto de ese interés se realizó la cumbre mundial de la sociedad de la información, con importantes recomendaciones para los países a fin de enfocar las prioridades que deben seguir para avanzar en la penetración y compenetración de la tecnología con el conocimiento, la información, el gobierno, los ciudadanos, el comercio y los derechos fundamentales de los individuos.

El Ecuador como parte de la comunidad mundial se ve inmerso en los procesos que la sociedad y la economía necesitan para crecer. Este crecimiento se logra en base a los avances que tiene una determinada sociedad respecto de sus valores, economía, tecnología, derechos humanos y especialmente apertura a los nuevos procesos de integración comercial o seudo

Se hacemos un balance de la globalización y su interrelación con la sociedad, vemos que la humanidad hace esfuerzos para mejorarla, lo que nos indica que su objetivo final es positivo y pretende el desarrollo de cada país en un entorno de asimetrías, buscando las simetrías.

En el Ecuador la globalización es una realidad, el país forma parte de una realidad mundial y la globalización ha sido bien vista por aquellos sectores involucrados con los negocios y especialmente la tecnología.

Si nos referimos al desarrollo de la globalización, nos encontraremos con que aún se tienen que superar muchas barreras para lograr una total integración del Ecuador al mundo. Podemos mencionar entre las dificultades que tiene el país a la falta de infraestructura que dificulta el conocimiento y.

una mayor penetración de la tecnología en la sociedad, especialmente en las áreas rurales y urbano marginales

Por otro lado la falta de proyectos financiados que permitan el cumplir con las metas y compromisos que el Ecuador adquirió frente a los organismos internacionales y regionales. Por otro lado está la falta de profesionalismo de las autoridades al momento de plantear soluciones reales y luego preocuparse por el cumplimiento de los proyectos propuestos. Finalmente la falta de políticas públicas que orienten al sistema ecuatoriano hacia un sistema de apertura comercial, social, cultural, tecnológico y educativo que permita al Ecuatoriano promedio conocer y acceder al conocimiento y a las oportunidades que le brinda el mundo.

Siempre existirán temores por parte de quienes participan, especialmente, de la cultura de los pueblos, pese a que la globalización es una realidad que no mira sectores sino apunta a una integración mundial.

El Ecuador necesita una mayor preocupación sobre la integración del país al resto del mundo, entender que no se trata solamente de acuerdo internacionales de comercio o contar con conexiones insuficientes a Internet, sino que se debe enfilar los desafíos del nuevo milenio a subir los niveles de compromiso de cada ciudadano y del Estado para mejorar la infraestructura y la participación en las relaciones internacionales que tiene el Ecuador, sea estas entre gobiernos o sea entre ciudadanos de cada país.

Por estas razones podemos decir que la globalización es positiva para el mundo, ya que permite el intercambio de conocimientos que aplicados a los distintas materias y ciencias, representan el presente y el futuro de las naciones.

As we are preparing Assens Municipality to the New Danish Reform of January 2007; we are carrying out multiple changes to live up to our vision for Effective and Attractive Municipality. We are introducing new functions to our internal as well as our external tasks. As a matter of illustration, we found it necessary to have a Development function to continuously empower our staff and improve our Service Management to our fellow citizens. It is a big task to enlarge our Municipality and we are working hard to achieve this with all our available resources.

We try to set our internal and external Standard of Conduct in many of the Municipalities activities (e.g., cultures, quality of our services, sports, healthcare, etc.,). At the same time we are giving high attention to our development, grows and business.

When it comes to positioning Assens in the World Cities, we have to acknowledge our limited resources and any proposal to improve our Globalization status should be carefully investigated. We are eager to improve our image as a World Municipality. We regard Assens Municipality as a business Organization and we will need to study the payoff of every proposal and the Net Present Value of each alternative.

After my own meaning Globalization is here to stay. We are seeing how the World is communicating at high speed. We experience how technology brings new opportunities to have closer connection to other people, and offers a number of new possibilities. Possibilities raise new problems and challenges to the new Global order. Denmark has big potentiality to be an active player, if we want to. We cannot and we should not isolate ourselves from the rest of the World. The new Assens Municipality will meet these challenges with an open mind.

We travel a lot to get in contact with people, cultures and learn how others are running their own affairs out of eagerness to come closer and to enrich our own needs and curiosity. We visited many of the World Cities and World Class Cities. While our generation is, in average, traveling 3 – 4 times a year, we may expect that that average may increase to perhaps 10 times a year in our Children generation.

It is amazing that distance is no longer an obstacle to enjoy our life and doing business. I also see how we get products from the entire World, for example from China, at no time. Logistic and supply chains are tangible in our life. Likewise, fueling the Press and the Media is also the facts we have to accept and cope with, both the good and the bad. You cannot isolate the one from the other.

I watch my son and how he manages his business Across the Global Business, I see the possibilities.

It was difficult for me to grasp it many years ago. Technologies and Integration of Information are turning the World Visible.

Globalization opens the World for people and Business and we are sure the witnesses of big changes.

On personal basis, we feel what Customer Services means in the East and South. When we return to a previously visited place, we recognized how much we are welcomed. This could not be measured in money. The West has something to learn. In fact I think we learn very much from each other. People need World Class Services.

When we are talking about prices we should not forget the other abstract values that add values to our human nature. I call it a HEART ROOM.

I can also see the wisdom of driving business with eyes on Globalization. We have to know how far we could demand and how far we ought to get.

I am also ready to pay extra when I know that I am purchasing products and services from a Company that respects the Human rights and do not exploits the Globalization spirit for its own advantage. A World Class Company must have Moral and Ethics.

In Fugleredden Kinder Garten, we are proud that we do not have discrimination and that we treat all children regardless of their background and origin in equal manner. We are responsible for shaping the foundation of the New Generation of Globalization and to help them to be ready to the demanding era of Globalization through the HEART ROOM, caring, discipline, love and skills.

The possibilities for getting a better understanding is here if we actively explore our environment.

Mental thinking is perhaps the key for Globalization.
